<p>Anti-government protests demanding freedom for the activists imprisoned for years expanded to different parts of the illegally occupied Gilgit Baltistan this week. </p>.<p>For weeks now, the people of the illegally occupied Gilgit Baltistan have been asking the government to release the natives of the region who were incarcerated on trumped-up charges and thrown behind the bars following a shoddy judicial process. People in Gilgit Baltistan blame Pakistan of misusing anti-terrorism laws to muzzle reasonable voices that dissent against its rule. </p>.<p>Such people have no place in the system and they suffer a brute subjugation of their rights whenever they dare resist the state oppression. Islamabad has arbitrarily detained several of them under the same modus operandi. </p>.<p>People say the politicians make hollow promises of releasing them during their election campaigns but not a bit changes when they assume power and positions. They however said they were determined with their demands this time and would not leave all of them set free.</p>
