Yellen says APEC Finance Ministers agreed on need to contain Israel-Hamas war

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said on Monday that finance ministers from Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation countries agreed to do everything they could to prevent the Israel-Hamas war from expanding into a regional conflict.

Yellen told a press conference that while human suffering was top of mind, it was "critical" that the conflict not expand, and "that if it does, it could pose risks to the global outlook that all of us would be concerned about."
