BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has added to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's recent 'batoge toh katoge' slogan.

Ranaut said the slogan calls for unity and proceeded to say her 'party even wants to take PoK together in this'.

"This is a call for unity. We have been taught since childhood that unity is strength. If we are together, we are safe and if we get divided, we will be cut...Our party is a Sanatani party. Our party even wants to take PoK together and the opposition's conspiracy to divide is being unsuccessful," Ranaut said.

Kangana Ranaut also took a jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on his recent remark on PM Modi's 'memory'.

"Everyone knows that the entire world is discussing about PM Modi's personality. He is the most popular leader of the world, but I feel bad that our opposition is jealous of the PM and that's why they are making such remarks," she said.

Rahul launched a scathing attack on BJP and PM Modi on the issue of the Constitution, reservation and caste census saying that he was suffering from "memory loss" and is speaking “lies”.

Ranaut said Gandhi needs small notes for 11-minute speeches, however, PM Modi speaks for an hour without looking at any paper.

Further, she added "without notes Rahul Gandhi cannot speak without notes, and he claims he doesn't have memory loss."

Yogi Adityanath had recently formulated the slogan in an apparent call for Hindus to stay united.

Adityanath on September 23 reiterated his "batenge toh katenge" remark, saying it was disunity which led to the "invaders destroying the Ram temple" in Ayodhya.

"Ayodhya Dham is now flourishing. The grand temple of Lord Ram Lalla has been built, but we must ask why we had to wait 500 years for this moment," Adityanath had said at an event in Mirzapur.

"Why did invaders destroy the magnificent temple of Lord Ram Lalla and impose a structure symbolising slavery? The answer lies in our disunity … We lost because we were divided," he had said.

The BJP leader had made the remark earlier as well in reference to the violence in Bangladesh after the fall of Sheikh Hasina-led government.

Meanwhile, the slogan has been termed "communal" by several opposition leaders.

Lok Sabha MP Dimple Yadav called the slogan to be an 'attempt to distract the people from their real concerns.'

However, many leaders including BJP's Shehzad Poonawalla and Devendra Fadnavis have defended Yogi's slogan.

PM Narendra Modi too made a statement saying, “People have adopted ‘ek hai to safe hai’…in fact it was there in the minds of people…I only lent my voice to it,” he said.

Sharing a picture with Baba Ramdev and Bageshwar Baba, BJP's Shehzad Poonawalla was seen wearing a t-shirt with the same slogan and said that the 'the message was not just on his tee but his heart as well.'

BJP's 'baatenge toh kaatenge' has, however, made the Mahayuti allies squirm, with many saying that Maharashtra has no place for divisions. The 'ek hai toh safe hai' pitch came after dissatisfaction in their own camp.

Kangana's comments come ahead of polling in Maharashtra, and the second phase of polling in Jharkhand -- which is on November 20. Results are out on November 23.

Assembly Elections 2024 | The Maharashtra Assembly polls will take place against the backdrop of a fractured political landscape in the western state where the Shiv Sena and NCP will be going up against the Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar factions, even as the BJP and Congress try to make their mark. Meanwhile, in Jharkhand, the JMM faces a new challenge after Hemant Soren's recent arrest and Champai, a longstanding party member, joining the BJP. The Haryana election resulted in a shock loss for Congress, which was looking to galvanize on the Lok Sabha poll performance, while J&K also saw the grand old party eventually stepping away from the cabinet, with Omar Abdullah's JKNC forming government. It remains to be seen if the upcoming polls help BJP cement its position further or provide a fillip to I.N.D.I.A.
