Credited with adding spunk to the party's presence in the virtual world, Congress' social media in-charge Divya Spandana's missing bio on her Twitter handle triggered speculation about her stepping down from the post.
Congress termed the reports of Divya's stepping down as AICC social media incharge as “wholly incorrect”, while the actor-turned-politician clarified that missing biodata on her Twitter handle is because of Twitter bug.
“These reports are wholly incorrect,” Randeep Singh Surjewala, in-charge of the AICC Communications Department said.
Divya, who is more popular by her screen name Ramya, is facing charges of sedition after she posted a photoshopped image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi painting the word 'chor' (thief) on the forehead of his wax statue.
Her absence from Twitter for the past three days also added grist to the rumour mills.
The Congress also made light of reports suggesting that Divya's role has been limited after Nikhil Alva's presence in Congress President Rahul Gandhi's office to craft the communications strategy. Nikhil is the son of veteran Congress leader Margaret Alva.
