'They are only focused on family interests, not interests of country,' says BJP National Spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari on Udhayanidhi elevated as Dy CM

On Tamil Nadu Minister & DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin appointed as the Dy CM, BJP National Spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari said, "This is the Parivarvad which PM Modi speaks about. MK Stalin promoted and made his son Udhayanidhi Stalin the Dy CM. There is no merit except being the CM's son... All of them are only focused on family interests, not the interests of the country. This is why they were rejected as an alliance. The youth of India is watching. On one hand, the PM spoke on the Red Fort and gave a call that 1000 youngsters without any experience or family background in politics should enter politics to serve the country. On the other hand, you have INDI alliance which is only focusing on looting."

Chirag Paswan-led LJP to contest Jharkhand polls

Union minister of of Food Processing Industries and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president, Chirag Paswan, on Sunday said that his party will contest the Jharkhand polls.

"Lok Janshakti Party Ram Vilas- we are working to move forward with all kinds of options. In the options, where on one hand there is a thought of contesting the elections under the alliance, on the other hand the party is also considering fighting alone. Lok Janshakti Party Ram Vilas had a strong mass base in Jharkhand," he said.

When I was born, at that time Bihar Jharkhand was only one state. In such a situation, this is also my birthplace. It has also been my father's 'Karmabhoomi'. Lok Janshakti Party Ram Vilas has also prepared a strong mass base organization here in recent years. In such a situation, the party has definitely decided that the party will contest the elections. Now whether the party contests the elections under the alliance or contests alone discussions are going on on all the issues at the moment. I think by the time the notification comes, this will also be finalized," he added.

Union Minister Amit Shah on Sunday attacked the previous Bhupinder Hooda-led government in Haryana.

Addressing a poll rally in Gurugram, he said, "The festival of Mata Rani (Navratri) will begin on October 3 and you have to vote on October 5. While casting your vote, you have to give an answer to Rahul Gandhi and his Congress who insulted Shakti... They are blinded by appeasement... Should Ram Mandir have been built or not? They say very proudly that they defeated the thought of Ayodhya. Rahul Baba, winning and losing of seats goes on but you should not link it with the insult to Ram Lalla. Ram Lalla was in a tent for 550 years and your party did nothing. PM Modi did the Bhoomi poojan, built the temple and also did the Pranpratishtha... When Congress government used to come to power in Haryana, they developed only one caste and one district... In (Bhupinder) Hooda Sahab's government, Dalal, Dealer, Damaad were the priority. Lands of Gurgaon were wasted in making the 'Damaad' of Delhi prosperous..."

They would have done it within a couple of years if they wanted to. They started preparing for elections after the order of the Supreme Court... They did want elections. They wanted to operate a remote-controlled government via the Lieutenant Governor... PM Modi did not give anything to the youth of India in the last 10 years. Udhayanidhi Stalin is new Tamil Nadu Dy CM, Balaji takes oath as minister

Udhayanidhi Stalin, the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, on Sunday took oath as as the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Udhayanidhi will also take on the additional portfolio of Planning and Development as part of a significant cabinet reshuffle within the state government.

The cabinet reshuffle also saw the return of V Senthil Balaji to the council of ministers two days after securing bail in a money laundering case.

The Chief Minister also inducted several new ministers into the Council of Ministers, including Dr Govi Chezhiaan, R Rajendran, and S M Nasar.

The ruling DMK's rank and file was seeking 46 year-old Udhayanidhi's promotion with an eye on the 2026 Assembly polls in the state, which the party is keen to win and retain power in the state.

Meteoric rise of Udhayanidhi Stalin

Udhay’s rise in the DMK has been meteoric even for a member of the first family and is in complete contrast with his father Stalin, who climbed the party ladder gradually over the decades. Udhay’s first political outing was in 2018, a year after his grandfather M Karunanidhi was confined to his home, and the next year he was appointed as secretary of the youth wing.

In 2021, Udhay contested the assembly elections from Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni, a constituency in Chennai represented by his grandfather, and won by a massive margin. And in 2022, he was a minister in his father’s 1.5 years old government.

In contrast, Stalin, who was groomed by Karunanidhi to succeed him, had to wait for at least 15 years to join his father’s cabinet. Stalin was inducted as a minister only in 2006, in his fourth term as a legislator and patiently waited for Karunanidhi to hand over the reins to him.

Many Congress leaders also believe that the party is lagging in the Haryana assembly elections...The people of Congress have rejected the election manifesto of the Congress party..."
