Mangaluru: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid on the MUDA office in Mysuru has exposed the true colours of the corrupt Karnataka government led by Congress, said Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta.

Reacting to the ED's raid in connection with the MUDA land scam in Mysuru, the MP stated that the state investigative agencies, under the control of the government, have been acting like puppets in the hands of CM Siddaramaiah, who is a key accused in the land allotment scam.

It is well-known that the CM has been evading responsibility and misleading the public, he claimed. However, with the ED's involvement in the case now, the truth will come out soon, he added.

After the Governor granted permission for prosecution in the MUDA case and an FIR was registered, CM Siddaramaiah should have taken moral responsibility and tendered his resignation to face the investigation, Chowta said. Instead, he has been trying to escape all serious allegations against him, he added.

"If he claims to have done nothing wrong, why did he return the land allotted? If he is innocent, why is he afraid to face the investigation? What is preventing him from coming clean?" the MP questioned.

"Every time there is an investigation or a raid, the Congress claims it to be politically motivated and hides the truth. In all the scams , the Congress has used similar tactics to mislead the public. However, when it comes to political opponents, they misuse the administrative machinery against our innocent party workers. The mask of the Congress government, which has been treating the people of the state as fools, will soon fall off with the ED investigation," Capt Chowta went on.

“The Rs 5,000 crore scam related to MUDA is not a small issue. The Congress government has drained the state’s treasury with its unscientific free guarantee schemes, and recovering the looted money could solve many of the state's problems. The rally led by BJP state president B Y Vijayendra in Mysuru had sparked a public movement against the corrupt government. However, our fight will not stop until the culprits who have looted Karnataka are punished,” the MP asserted.
