The meeting of the Dasara executive committee, chaired by District in-charge Minister G T Devegowda (JD-S), was witness to some discontent by District in-charge Minister of neighbouring Chamarajanagar C Puttarangashetty (Congress).
However, what seemed to be a friction between the JD(S) and Congress ministers in the coalition government from the region, was soon ironed out.
Soon after the release of Dasara posters and launch of the web portal, he left the meeting in a huff. Sources said, he was disappointed as he was not made vice-chairman of the committee, while ministers N Mahesh (BSP) from his own district and Sa Ra Mahesh from Mysuru were made vice-chairmen.
He was also miffed over not finding his portrait on the posters, while those of G T Devegowda, Sa Ra Mahesh and Jayamala found place on the posters.
He is said to have claimed that he is the senior-most after Devegowda.
After the meeting, Devegowda said, Puttarangashetty complained that he was not made vice-chairman.
“So, a decision was taken in the meeting to make all ministers of both Mysuru and Chamarajanagar as vice-chairmen of the committee. Puttarangashetty left as he had some work in Hubballi. Otherwise, there is no rift between us,” he said.
