J&K Assembly Polls 2024 Highlights: Polling for the final phase concludes

This blog is now closed. These were the highlights on the day of voting for the third and final phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. As many as 40 seats across seven districts, including the winter capital Jammu went to polls in this phase. The bulk of the seats — 24 seats — are in the Jammu division, while 16 are in Kashmir. A voter turnout of nearly 69% per cent was recorded. Samba district in Jammu saw the highest turnout at 73.45 per cent, while Baramulla in Kashmir had the lowest at 55.73 per cent. Polling for J&K elections 2024 concluded today after the final phase of elections was over.

Voter turnout over 65% at 5 pm

A voter turnout of 65.48%% per cent was recorded as of 5 pm. Polling is underway till 6 pm on Tuesday.

We are equidistant from all parties, says Sajad Gani Lone

People's Conference president Sajad Gani Lone on Tuesday said that his party is equidistant from all parties.

Speaking to news agency ANI, he said, "We do not go into the number game. But I think it will be good...We are equidistant from all parties, we faced issues in alliances last time as well. So, we are on our own. We want to contest alone."
