<p>Medical Education Minister D K Shivakumar said on Saturday that a proposal to allot 50% of PG and 25% of UG medical seats to students from Karnataka in all deemed universities in the state had been agreed to by the Centre. A government order will be shortly issued in this matter, the minister said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He was speaking at the Doctors’ Day event organised by the Karntaka chapter of Indian Medical Association (IMA) here. He called upon doctors, academicians and educationists to give their suggestions to change the existing medical education system in the state. </p>.<p class="bodytext">He said a law to make one-year rural service compulsory for doctors would come into force in the coming days.
