Women and Child Welfare Department Deputy Director A M Basavaraju was suspended by Karnataka government on Wednesday for allegedly harassing staff of the department during his course of posting in Belagavi.
A team of Central government officials visited Tamil Nadu on Wednesday to assess the damage caused by unprecedented flooding and rainfall in four southern districts. While relief and rescue efforts by state and central agencies continued in full swing, Chief Minister M K Stalin reviewed the progress and directed officials to expedite work.
"Union Minister had given the suggestion as covid-19 cases are rising...We are active and surveillance is being done. 2261 tests were done in the last 7 days but no cases were detected...Our preparedness is in place. We have ordered all districts to be prepared to face any situation. We are reviewing again and again," said Odisha Health Minister Niranjan Pujari.
