Haryana Results LIVE | Farmers gave Congress befitting reply, says PM Modi
After early morning trends showed the Congress taking leads in Haryana triggering celebrations at party offices, it was finally the BJP that clinched a hat-trick win in the state overcoming anti-incumbency and dashing Congress' hopes of a comeback. Modi addressing the BJP workers at the party headquarters in Delhi after the victory and said people of Haryana have stamped out falsehood and that polls in J and K were a victory for India's Constitution and democracy. The Congress loss in Haryana triggered a blame game with Kumari Selja saying the party high command should assess all reasons that led to the disappointing result and identify the people responsible. JJP, which had emerged as the kingmaker last assembly polls, was decimated this time round, while the Indian National Lok Dal also failed to create much impact. The AAP also came as a cropper. Meanwhile, the Congress raised with the EC the issue of an "unexplained slowdown" in updating of results in Haryana and urged it to direct officials to update accurate figures so "false news and malicious narratives" can be countered immediately. But the EC in his response said that there was nothing on record to substantiate his "ill-founded allegation" of a slowdown. Thank you for staying with us to tack all the latest updates on Haryana Assembly election! And, that's wrap. Good night.

Assembly Elections Highlights | 'BJP never had connection with the people': Congress will win 60+ seats in Haryana, asserts Selja
Hello, readers! The single-phased assembly elections in Haryana was conducted yesterday, with around 67% of the 2.03 crore eligible voters exercising their franchise in the state. With this, the voting for the assembly polls in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir came to an end, with counting for both the state elections scheduled to be held on October 8. The exit polls, which came out on Saturday, have put the National Conference-Congress alliance in the pole position with the regional party getting the lion's share of the seats in Jammu and Kashmir. Stringent security arrangements have been put in place at all district headquarters in J&K for the counting of votes for the 90-member assembly. Meanwhile, Congress is expected to emerge victorious in Haryana. However, BJP leaders have rubbished the exit poll predictions and exuded confidence that the saffron party will win in both states. Stay tuned with DH as we bring you all the latest updates from the assembly elections in the states in contention!
