After an early lead for Congress, BJP turned the tables and emerged victorious in Haryana, defying the predictions of the exit polls. Congress leader and former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda claimed victory in Garhi Sampla - Kiloi, while current CM Nayab Singh Saini also won in Ladwa. Wrestler-turned-politician Vinesh Phogat, who contested for the Congress, won from the Julana constituency in her debut elections. Elsewhere, OP Jindal group's chairperson emeritus, Savitri Jindal, won from the Hisar constituency contesting as an Independent candidate. Haryana BJP chief Mohan Lal Badoli has confirmed that Nayab Singh Saini will continue as CM with the BJP entering their third straight term in the state. 67.90% voter turnout recorded in Haryana polls, figure inches closer to 2019 turnout

Haryana has recorded a voter turnout of 67.90 per cent with Ellenabad assembly seat in Sirsa district witnessing the highest polling percentage at over 80 per cent, according to the updated figures of the Election Commission on Sunday.
