Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of prime minister-designate Narendra Modi, Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar said, "They have a majority that's why they are taking the oath. We don't have a majority that's why we are in opposition and fighting for the cause of the people and this country."

VK Pandian has announced retirement from active politics.
In a video statement released on Sunday, the BJD leader and former IAS officer announced retirement from politics and also sought apology for the assembly polls debacle. BJD was ousted from the government in the recently concluded Odisha assembly polls.
